Raiders Davante Adams expresses frustration after offensive struggle, hopes to avoid embarrassing

After a bizarre game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Las Vegas Raiders built a three-game losing streak and fell at the bottom of the AFC West with 5-8 standings. However, the loss has especially affected the six-time All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.

He seemed to be long gone from the Allegiant Stadium before anyone could get a hold of him post-game. Nearly 48 hours after losing in the lowest-scoring indoor game in NFL history, WR Adams finally released his frustration with the general condition of his team, late on Tuesday afternoon.

After his team recorded three straight losses going into the bye week filled with frustration, Adams said,

You want to be a part of history. But never that type.
the wide receiver said, ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez reported

In the coming week, the team is scheduled to face off against the Los Angeles Chargers, on Thursday Night.

I mean, it's embarrassing too,--Not that that's the main thing that drives it, but you walk off that field and you've got a lot of fans that pay their money to come to see you play and you go up and put up a goose egg. It almost looked worse that they only scored three [points], too.

For those of you who are saying we ought to trade Davante Adams for picks—who will the next QB have to throw it to if they ship him out? pic.twitter.com/f66iWmwMVe

Adams hopes the Raiders don’t produce any such horrible scores in the upcoming games, saying

Hopefully we don't make any more history like that on this side.

The All-Pro receiver is taking his time to move past this game, however, he added,

I'm not over it, but I'm past it, for sure.

After producing a career-best 15.2 yards-per-catch average with league-high touchdowns of 14, along with catching 100 out of his 180 targets for 1,516 yards last season, the wide receiver has logged the second-lowest average of his career of 11.4 yards-per-catch, with third-lowest touchdown count of only four in his entire 10-year career.

Where did the Raiders’ offense fail against the Vikings?

In the week 14 game, the Raiders’ defense didn’t disappoint as much as the offense did. In fact, it was the defense that did not allow the opponent to score more than 3 points in the entire four quarters.

As Adams said in the conversation with ESPN,

It's just, we couldn't really get a rhythm, couldn't establish really anything in the game. Once we did, we obviously turned the ball over and we didn't make it easy on ourselves.

However, it wasn’t just the turnovers, there were many offensive mistakes on the part of the Raiders. Quarterback Aidan O’Connell largely struggled with pocket presence resulting in an interception and was also sacked four times. The wide receivers dropped several crucial passes, Hunter Renfrow ended up with a fumble, all these combined destroyed the head coach Bo Hardegree‘s offensive unit.
