Margot Robbie Lands Highest-Paid Actress for Astronomical Paycheck for Barbie Celeb Secret

“Life in plastic, it’s fantastic!” Just ask Margot Robbie.

The Australian actress is getting paid a whopping $12.5 million for her role in the highly-anticipated movie, Barbie, directed by Oscar-nominated Greta Gerwig, according to Variety

That puts her at the top of the list for the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood this year. She previously grossed $10 million for her role as Harley Quinn in the 2020 film “Birds of Prey.”

Robbie is one of five women who made it on the top 26 list of highest paid actors and actresses in Hollywood. Behind her is Millie Bobby Brown who earned $10 million from her role in “Enola Holmes 2.”

Emily Blunt, Jamie Lee Curtis and Anya-Taylor Joy rounded out the list in 23rd, 25th and 26th place respectively.

Meanwhile men in Hollywood dominate the chart taking 21 of the 26 actors listed.

Robbie’s co-star in the film, Ryan Gosling who plays Ken, is tied with her for 16th place also taking home $12.5 million from the film. Sitting at the same spot in the lineup is Steve Carrell who brought home the same amount of money from his hit flick, Minions: The Rise of Gru

Will Ferrell (“Spirited”), Chris Hemsworth (“Extraction 2”), Vin Diesel (“Fast X”), Tom Hardy (“Venom 3”), Joaquin Phoenix (Joker 2″), Ryan Reynolds (“Spirited”) and Denzel Washington (“The Equalizer 3”) all earned a whopping $20 million from their films this year.

No one seems to come near what Tom Cruise made for Top Gun: Maverick. Variety estimates he’ll be taking home at least $100 million for the action packed blockbuster.

“I would never bet against Tom Cruise,” one studio executive told Variety. “Most actors aren’t worth what you pay them, but Cruise and maybe Dwayne Johnson justify their salaries.”

The iconic barbie doll is expected to be brought back to life in movie theatres next summer.
