But, a recent Instagram post from Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Gordon Ryan revealed Jones’ plan to retire from combat sports.

Recently, Jones and Ryan were involved in multiple training sessions in preparation for the Stipe fight. Ryan, on his latest Instagram post with Jones, left a caption which baffled many MMA fans. Ryan wrote, “Another few days of work with the man @jonnybones. I’m looking forward to watching him put on the grand finale for the fans and leaving the sport at the top, on his terms, and unbeaten. What an honor to be a part of this last camp.” Further, Ryan changed his caption after already posting his pictures with Jones. Fans left their reactions to this chaos as one of them commented, “Jon prolly told him to change it lmao.“

Previously, Jones said that he could possibly retire after UFC 295. The 36-year-old has no plans to stay in the game and pick on upcoming heavyweights. In his illustrious UFC career, Jones has stayed at the pinnacle of the sport since 2011.

After Ryan’s post, November 11th could be the last time fight fans see the heavyweight champion compete in the octagon. After his win against Ciryl Gane, a challenge against an already-established heavyweight like Miocic could pose a huge threat to Jones.
