James Franco Trying to "Blow Up Twitter" with Sexy Selfies, Keegan Allen Says

When Pretty Little Liars’ Keegan Allen visited James Franco backstage at his Broadway show, Of Mice and Men, taking a shirtless selfie was not on his to-do list.

Nevertheless, that’s exactly what happened, as evidenced by a photo posted on Twitter Tuesday showing the two men laying under a blanket together.

It was but one of many memorable, sort of creepy James Franco selfies to hit the Interwebs lately. So what is the deal with this guy? Allen explains …

"I went to go say hey to him in his dressing room," Allen told E! "There were a lot of people there and I asked him, ‘What’s the way to do the best selfie in bed?’

James, being James, obliged with a demonstration: "He showed me. And then he climbed in really quickly and he was like, ‘Let’s blow up Twitter for a second.’"

"He’s a trip," Allen said of his Palo Alto co-star and Bukowski director. "He’s great to work with, an incredible director and a really fun guy to hang out with."

Fun is one way to describe his recent online behavior, which seems like a cross between performance art and shadiness. It’s hard to tell where the line is.

Not long before Keegan’s bed romp, Franco hit on an underage girl on Instagram, and has been sprinkling near-naked shots of himself on the web often.

In the racy shot he most recently shared, James appeared naked except for a pair white boxer briefs pulled down to the point of almost exposing himself.

The caption read, "JUMP ROPE." He deleted the photo shortly after posting it on Instagram, but not before we added it to this strangely TMI Franco gallery:
